Mechanical Engineer/Designer (HVAC)

Summary of Position:

Assists project managers with all aspects of the project from proposal to final engineered design.

Duties:

Assists with the preparation of design drawings by performing:

  • Site surveys
  • Title 24 calculations
  • Ductwork design and layouts
  • Load calculations
  • Control diagram designs
  • Product specifications
  • Coordinates with Architects, Structural, Civil and Electrical Engineers
  • Assists project managers by organizing details of construction drawings and responding to construction administration items as they arise.
  • Conducts quality control checks of construction documents with project managers.

Electrical Engineer/Designer (Lighting & Power)

Summary of Position:

Plumbing Engineer/Designer

Summary of Position:

Assists project managers with all aspects of the project from proposal to final engineered design.

  • Single line designs
  • Product specifications
  • Coordinates with Architects, Structural, Civil and Mechanical Engineers

Electrical Engineer in Santa Clara, CA (EE-CA)

Prepare electrical design drawings, including lighting and power plans, design and layout, panel schedules, load calculation, single line diagrams, equipment sizing including all supporting calculations and analysis, and product specifications. Develop and modify details of construction drawings. Conduct quality control checks of construction documents and coordinate with architects, structural, civil, and mechanical/plumbing engineers. Perform various electrical engineering calculations, such as photometric calculations, short circuit current calculations, voltage drop calculations, and arc-flash evaluations. Perform site surveys to investigate existing electrical systems, evaluate their conditions and provide recommendations on utilization of the existing equipment, or propose equipment upgrade. Identify code deficiencies and advise client on how to remedy such conditions in a cost-effective manner. Attend design meetings with architects, clients, and proposed contractors to coordinate project requirements. Identify electrical coordination items and implement those in design requirements. Perform site visits during project construction, review work completed, and address any discrepancies between work done and construction documents. Identify any code violations, and provide recommendations on how to correct such conditions. Review proposed equipment submittals and respond to Requests for Information for building contractors.

Must have Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent followed by 5 years of progressive experience.

Additional Information for ALL Positions

Special Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Windows operating system required.
  • REVIT experience a plus!
  • Knowledge/experience with California construction and city codes preferred.
  • Field construction experience preferred.
